Nelten Website Scan

About us

About us: built because we needed it ourselves.

Nelten Public GmbH develops the website scan in Dresden. It began with our own websites and applications, where we collected technical and content checks during development and operation. The scanner presents these checks as individual rules. The report lists each rule ID, expected result and a fix instruction. The checks name their sources. This helps website operators and developers understand what a finding is based on and which task it describes.

How we work

Every rule with a source

Google Search Central, W3C WCAG 2.2, OWASP, SSL Labs, RFCs and German regulations form the basis. In the report you find the matching source and the expected state, so each message can be looked up. Developers can check the benchmark and align their change to it.

Checked ourselves

Our own websites go through the same scanner before going live. We review the results and fix the problems found. This shows how the rules work in daily practice. The public checklist also makes visible which aspects the scan covers.

Understandable for business owners

The free view shows all finding groups and up to three examples with issue, instruction, one address and measurement. Further instructions and finding details are in the package report or remediation order. The ID helps you find the group again.

Data stays here

The website stores no third-party services in your browser. Quick scan reports are kept on a server in Germany and deleted after 30 days. The scan reads publicly reachable pages and leaves them unchanged. The quick scan needs no credentials for your website.

Four areas of work

Hands-on work behind every rule.
